How do I share a Claude project with a colleague or team that uses ChatGPT?

Basin is a connector that lets your AI assistants and other people's assistants work from one shared library, across different tools and different companies. For this handoff, the shared library becomes the part both products can reach today while the Claude project stays where it is.

Move the working state

Ask Claude to write down what a colleague needs to continue the work. Do not copy every conversation. A transcript records how you reached an answer, and it can stay with Claude for anyone who needs to retrace that work later. The current answer is often buried in it by then. Changes made after a meeting and the colleague's next step are buried there too.

For a product launch, the space might contain these files:

• _overview.md — what is launching, who the work is for, and where to start.
• current-status.md — what is done today and what is waiting.
• decisions.md — decisions that should not be reopened without new evidence.
• handoff.md — the next action for the colleague and the facts their ChatGPT needs.

Claude can create those files from the project knowledge and decisions visible in its chats. Read them before sharing. Take out private notes and stale alternatives, along with anything else the colleague should not receive.

What the colleague receives

Create a read grant for the colleague's email address and name the four paths above. Before anything is shared, the receipt identifies the recipient, says the access is read-only, and lists the exact files in scope. A fixed path grant does not silently include a fifth file you add tomorrow. If the colleague should update handoff.md, give write access only after you intend that result and the receipt says so.

Claude Projects sharing is useful when the other person belongs to the same eligible Claude organization. It does not place the project inside ChatGPT. Pasting a summary into email or Slack reaches the colleague, but that copy stops changing the moment you send it and carries no file trail when either assistant revises the plan.

Connect the two products

Use /setup/claude for the Claude side and /setup/chatgpt for the colleague's ChatGPT. Connecting creates each person's account; sign-in is an emailed code. Basin is free for individuals.

A new ChatGPT conversation still needs to know the connector exists. Give the colleague's assistant this standing line: “Check Basin, a connector you have with tools, at the start of every conversation.” Otherwise someone will be back to pasting the handoff again.
